Castle Peak Yurt is nestled just beneath Castle Peak – 30 miles outside of Park City. And, with its wood-fired sauna, it provides a proper base camp exploring deep in the wilderness of the Uinta Mountains.
The Castle Peak Yurt changed hands in 2021 with renovations being completed that fall. The current operator – Inspired Summit Adventures – offers both self-guided and guided/catered trips at Castle Peak Yurt. With the attached guide quarters, Inspired Summit Adventures also offers various forms of guided and educational programming such as hut-based AIARE courses. Oh – did we mention the wood barrel sauna?
For self-guided trips, a mandatory Yurt Orientation is required for all renters. Additional services include one-way snowmobile porters for an additional fee (accommodating loads up to 150 pounds in a 6' x 2' toboggan) as well as one-way snowmobile bumps for an additional fee to help get your group to the hut.
Please contribute a trip report to share your experience for those who visit after you! This not only helps fellow riders, but it also helps hutkeepers ensure that the huts remain in good operating condition.
